About us

Two decades on the ground. Still obsessed with the detail.

KRÖFT grew out of twenty years of running journeys, opening doors and keeping promises across Japan — first for the country's finest hotels and operators, now for the world's travel trade.

Our story

Before KRÖFT had a name, it had a reputation.

Our people spent the better part of two decades inside Japan's luxury travel machine — running operations for five-star houses and ryokan, managing ground programmes for international operators, guiding, fixing, translating and negotiating the country end to end. KRÖFT is that experience under one roof: a partner that was quietly behind extraordinary journeys long before it put its own name on the door.

Our people

Senior people, doing the actual work.

There are no juniors learning on your client here. Everyone at KRÖFT has run journeys at the highest level — people who have managed state visits' worth of logistics, seated impossible tables, and walked guests through Kyoto in four languages. You deal directly with the people running the trip, and they've usually solved your problem before, more than once.

Our network

Twenty years of saying yes.

The temple that doesn't take visitors. The counter with no reservation line. The artisan who works alone. Access in Japan is built on trust, and trust is built over years — ours were spent earning it, from Hokkaidō to Okinawa. When we ask, doors open, because we've been knocking on them for two decades.

Why it matters

Experience is speed, in disguise.

Twenty years in means we've seen the typhoon reroute, the sold-out sakura week, the guide who cancels at midnight — and we already know the answer. It's why our quotes come back fast, our timelines hold, and our journeys don't wobble when the country gets busy. What looks like calm is really just experience.

The road here

A short history of a long apprenticeship.

2004

The first seasons

Our founders cut their teeth inside Japan's luxury hotels and ryokan — learning service where the standard is highest and forgiveness is lowest.

2010s

The operations years

A decade running ground programmes across Japan for international operators and private clients — thousands of journeys, every region, every season.

2020

The network holds

When the world stopped travelling, the relationships didn't. We spent the quiet years deepening ties with guides, houses and artisans across the country.

Today

KRÖFT

All of it under one name: a trade-only partner with twenty years of Japan behind it, and one point of contact in front of it.

Work with us

Twenty years of Japan, at your service.

We work only with the travel trade — agents, operators and houses who expect the journey to be run properly. Tell us about your client, and we'll show you what two decades on the ground can do.
